In this article, we want to remind you of the next 2022 1040 US tax return filing deadline, which is 16th October 2023, for taxpayers who had filed for an extension on 16th April 2023 or 15th June 2023 with the completion of Form 4868.
If you are still struggling to gather all the information required to file the 1040/1040NR tax return by 16th October and if you are residing outside of the United States, request that your US tax team preparer to file an additional extension until 15th Dec 2023.
Foreign Bank Account Reporting (FBAR) filing deadline date?
The FBAR is an annual report, due April 15 following the calendar year reported.

We understand the UK personal tax filing deadline date for the 2022/23 tax year is 31st Dec 2024. However, for the US tax return filing who are reporting Foreign tax credits on Form 1116, we highly recommend getting the tax return prepared a month early and ensuring the UK taxes are paid on or before 31st Dec 2023. This is to ensure the UK taxes paid can be claimed as foreign tax credits on their 1040 Federal tax return in line with the calendar year reporting until 31st Dec 2023

For the 1040 filer with an ITIN application and filing the tax return via postal filing, please ensure the tax return is filed with the ITIN application on or before the deadline date of 15th October 2023 and return postal proof of mailing safely.
